Texas Commissioner

Welcome to the Clan Pollock Tent. I am Ron Pollock, the Texas Commissioner for Clan Pollock. I trust you are enjoying your visit with us. On this page you will discover a little about me and some of the projects that I work on. I am a fifth generation Texan first and Scot to the bone.

My wife Susan and I live in a historic home in Cleburne that we have been working on for ten years. We are doing all of the renovation ourselves and that takes much of our time. I have been the chairman for a local preservation group for over six years. Texas commissioner for Clan Pollock over six years and an avid lover of the fine brew of Scotland for most of my life. Below you will find several pictures representing several of my interest.

Howdy pard, I'm Ron and I sure am glad you stopped by to visit. I been hanging around this page for days wait'ng for you to come visit. A little about me, I grew up in the construction business then twenty three years ago I changed professions and started to work for a grocery chain as a meat cutter. I worked my way up in the boxed meat processing plant. I then spent a few years in retail, then back to the processing of ground beef at the plant. I now hold the position of Lead Inspector for the perishable receiving facility in Ft. Worth. For the past four or five years I have been working with computer graphics on the side. I have worked graphics for several companies and have created several web pages. This page being one of them, the graphics you will find throughout this page are mostly my own creations, however some of them are borrowed from the net. As I stated earlier one of my interest is in preservation. We have been working on this house over ten years and will probably be working on it when we have become ghost. I have served on The Johnson County Historic Commission and chairman of Save Old Cleburne, a non profit organization of home owners and preservationist from the Cleburne area. We do a Candle walk tour of Homes each year in early December to create operating funds. Enough of this babble, let's get on with the pictures, maybe they have loaded by now.

The first is of our house, it was built in 1880 by Col. Campbell Dickson. Mr. Dickson was one of the early settlers of Cleburne and was very influential in it's development.  The Dickson Furniture Store operated for over one hundred years at the same location.

The Silver Thistle Pipe Band along with Margaret Gravet was the entertainment at our home when it was on the Candle Walk tour.

A fund raiser that we put on for Save Old Cleburne brought Ed Miller to Cleburne for his fourth performance for us. His performance this time was in the old Carnage Library in Cleburne, in it's upstairs stage. Afterward we had a few friends to gather at the Cleburne House B&B for a reception.
